Summer Slam 2017: Who We Want to Win!

Tomorrow on August 20th, 2017 is one of the four big pay-per views that the WWE hosts.  Summerslam has a lot of tension going into it this year and we’re pretty excited to see what happens.  So on the eve of Summerslam, we’ve put together a list of the card and who we want to win.  These are not predictions, this is straight up who we like more.  🙂

Kickoff starts at 5 P.M ET and the main program starts at 7 P.M. ET and you can watch it on the WWE Network!

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa vs. Neville

Winner:  Akira Tozawa

I would rather see Akira Tozawa win.  His in-ring ability is insane and he has charisma.  Neville’s King of the Cruiserweight gimmick has become boring and elves shouldn’t be allowed to wrestle humans.

The Hardy Boyz & Jason Jordan Vs. The Miz & The Miztourage

Winner:  Jason Jordon & The Hardy Boyz

I love Miz, The Hardy’s, and I’m warming up to Jason Jordon.  However, the Miztourage is kinda lame and I haven’t seen anything spectacular from them as of yet.  However, Jason Jordon being put over on the Miz and the Hardy Boyz backing him up it’ll be a good win for Jason Jordan.

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. The Usos

Winner:  New Day

The Usos suck.

“The Demon” Finn Bálor vs. Bray Wyatt

Winner:  “The Demon”

Admittedly I wasn’t very interested in Finn Balor.  However; his old role as the demon is resurrected (which is badass) so we’re hoping he shuts up Bray Wyatt’s monologuing mouth.

Big Show vs. Big Cass (with Enzo Amore suspended above the ring in a Shark Cage)

Winner:  Big Show

I understand this is a way to get Big Cass over but c’mon.  It’s the Big Show.  He has way more experience and he’s always been kinda a cool guy.  However; we’re hoping to see Enzo Amore get hurt some more.  Seems like that’s his only talent.  That and getting kicked off the WWE tour bus by Roman Reigns.

Randy Orton vs. Rusev

Winner:  Randy Orton

Don’t get me wrong, Rusev is a bad ass and a talented wrestler but it’s been awhile since Randy Orton had a win.  The whole feud with Jinder was old and it was obvious his minions were going to forever get in the way.  It’ll be nice to see Randy back on top.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi vs. Natalya

Winner:  Natalya

If Natalya wins it will be a better feud for Charlotte Flair and Natalya.  I think a Flair vs Naomi would be pointless as Charlotte would wipe the floor with her.  Only a few of the women can actually go toe to toe with Flair and Natalya would be a good one.

Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks

Winner:  Sasha Banks

I LOVE Alexa Bliss as champ and I would be completely okay with her keeping the title for a whole year.  She’s a damn good heel.  However; I would really like to see Sasha get the title and then see Baley go heel and turn on her!  That would be good television.  In a perfect scenario, I would like to see Sasha Banks nearly win and Bayley interferes and gives the win to Alexa.  That would be a good feud.

Raw Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins

Winner:  Cesaro & Sheamus

This feud between the Shield and current champions has been a good one.  Cesaro & Sheamus are a FANTASTIC tag team.  They’re odd bedfellows and it just seems to work.  Though I love Deam Ambrose (Seth Rollins not too much) just because they’re reunited doesn’t mean it’s time for them to be champions.

United States Champion AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens (Shane McMahon as special guest referee)

Winner:  AJ Styles

This is probably the match I most want to see.  AJ Styles always puts on a hell of a show and is the most talented star on the WWE roster in my opinion.  I hope this will be the final match between these two though because I’m really tired of seeing Kevin Owens nearly having a heart attack in the ring every time he wrestles.  Shane McMahon can feud with him after the match to keep him relevant so AJ can go onto better matches.

John Cena vs. Baron Corbin

Winner:  John Cena

Not really sure what the point of this match is.  I assume it’s so Cena can put over Baron Corbin with the fans so they can put the belt on him at a later date.  Which I’m not sure he’s ready yet.  He has potential but he’s missing a few elements.

WWE Champion Jinder Mahal vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Winner:  Jinder Mahal

I understand that most people love Shinuske Nakamura and he’s a hell of a talent.  But Jinder is a fantastic champion.  He’s a great heel and his mic work is damn good.  Shinuske can barely speak into the mic, it takes him 29 minutes and 43 seconds to get into the ring, and he walks around constantly god moding and no selling every single move he’s ever placed in.  I’m not saying he’s not talented…however he just arrived on the Smackdown roster just a couple months ago.  He has put in very little work on the show and I just don’t feel he’s worthy of the title.  Especially after he botched a move on John Cena that could have ended very badly.

Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe vs. Braun Strowman (Fatal 4-Way Match)

Winner:  Samoa Joe

It’s pretty obvious they’re setting Brock up to lose the belt and I’m fine with that.  Putting the belt on a part-timer annoys me.  The only reason he started showing up recently is that fans were catching on that he’s a part-timer and only using the WWE to stay in shape (and get a paycheck) before he goes back into the UFC.

Braun Strowman is a freaking monster and is always fun to watch but I think he just needs to put in a bit more time.  I think a feud between him and Samoa Joe would be awesome.

Roman Reigns sucks.

Samoa Joe is big.  He’s bad.  And he’s good on the mic.  He can move like no other wrestler his size in the WWE and he’s constantly this intense dude and he’s damn scary.  He has a mix of everything a heel champion would need.

Well, there you have it!  Those are who we want to win at Summerslam!  Agree?  Disagree?  Let us know in the comments!
