Die, Monster, Die! (1965 American International Pictures Film)
Die, Monster, Die! (or Monster of Terror) was directed by Daniel Haller in 1965. Loosely based on H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Colour Out of Space”. It was shot at Shepperton Studios Surrey, England under the title “The House at the End of the World.”
A scientist, Stephen Reinhart (played by Nick Adams), travels to his fiancee’s estate. While there he comes upon a scorched area where he finds an enormous crater. In town the people are cold towards Reinhart and refuse to take him the rest of the way to his fiance’s family estate, nor are willing to divulge information about the people who live there.
Later we come to find out that Nahum Witley (played by legendary Boris Karloff), has been using some strange radiation from the nearby crater to manipulate and mutate the local animal and plant life. Of course, as with all mad-scientist schemes, it turns catastrophic.
Truly a classic and a guilty pleasure. Turn off your lights and drink a cup a joe and relax. Just enjoy the Karloff and Adams tonight. You deserve it!
